How to find a hotel deal this summer?

While planning for a summer vacation, hotels are the last item on people’s list to book. This is not a good approach especially if you are traveling with family as good hotels are booked first. You might be stuck with a badly managed and located hotel.

Summer is the busiest holiday season in USA and I felt that it is important to share some tips about booking a hotel for your summer vacation.

Many vacationers look for newer and more luxurious hotels while some old tradition hotels with excellent track record of customer service are available for a lesser price. Recently I helped a customer book a hotel in Los Angeles with 100 years of history. The price was 25% less than a newer hotel. He thoroughly enjoyed his stay and told me that the staff told him many interesting stories of past celebrities.

Hotels located near popular tourist destination are always more expensive and more crowded. I recently went on a family vacation to Las Vegas, we booked a hotel that was half a mile away from the famous strip but much more comfortable, cheaper and convenient. We did not have to face drunken couples who were depressed because of their losses in casinos.

Weekend rates are cheaper than week day rates for hotels. The reason is that many business traveler book hotels during week days for their business trips. Hotels on the other hand market their properties more for week day business travelers. If you want to save money it is always better to book hotels for the week end.

If you book hotel with a car in a package you might be able to save some more as travel services companies like GetUSAHotels to get bulk discounts for package sales. Do your own math and if you feel you can get a better hotel with a car for the same price then it is a good deal.

There is no set formula for saving on travel but a little effort can make your trip enjoyable, comfortable and economical.

Holidaying in South America:rio De Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo

South America is a vast continent of jungles, rain forests and some of the world’s most exciting cities. Miles and miles of fabulous beaches, soaring mountains and a passionate culture that thrives on music and dance make the region a must for a holiday.

Rio de Janeiro

Rio sits between lush mountains and the glorious beaches fronting the Atlantic and is a true city of the imagination. The pulse of the samba is rarely absent from this city in which every day is a celebration.

Climate

Like all of coastal Brazil, Rio is sultry and humid for most of the year. Summer temperatures hover around 28 C. The rainy season occurs from October to January. Winters in Rio feature temperatures of around 23 C.

Transport:getting there and getting away

Flights connect Rio with all of Brazil and Latin America, as well as many other major cities. Buses depart for most destinations from Novo Rio Rodoviaria.

City buses are often crowded and struggle through Rio’s traffic. Rio has an excellent, air-conditioned subway system but it only covers points north of Botafogo.

Buenos Aires is a major transport hub for the southern part of South America. The city has two airports: Aeropuerto Internacional Ministro Pistarni (known as Ezeiza), for international flights. Domestic and regional flights use Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (Aeroparque) which is just five miles out of town. Both airports can be reached by bus.

Summers are hot with the temperatures reaching 40 C and winters can get very cold. Spring (October to November) and Autumn (March to May) are warm and pleasant. Rain can come at any time but it tends not to be heavy.
